Algolia and Gluo held the Search & AI Summit in CDMX
Algolia and Gluo held the Search & AI Summit, a series of talks on the latest advancements in Search and Artificial Intelligence technologies. The event took place on Tuesday, April 18th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Mexico City.
During the session, the importance of search in a highly competitive digital market was discussed. According to data presented by Algolia, 43% of users immediately use the search bar when entering an e-commerce website, users who use the search function are 2.4 times more likely to make a purchase, and 12% of users abandon a site after an unsuccessful search.
Additionally, at the Search & AI Summit, Gluo presented information about the essential search aspects that a company must cover to optimize the results that users receive, according to data from Baymard Institute. The importance of the search box interface, order, and design, and its results were also mentioned to improve the overall user experience.
At the end of the event, Algolia conducted a live demo of their new Artificial Intelligence module, Neural Search. Neural Search is a search approach that uses neural network models to improve the accuracy and relevance of search results. Under this model, a search engine is capable of understanding the meaning and relationship between words, reducing manual management of synonyms and language rules, and personalizing results according to the user's interests.
Companies such as Telcel, Liverpool, GAIA, Envato, Petco, and Linio attended the Summit with the purpose of enhancing the search experience of their e-commerce websites.
